Friday's Top 5... My Most Anticipated Movies of the Fall

#5: Dear White People

I've been looking forward to this comedy since the reviews started coming out of Sundance, so it really can't come out soon enough for me. Whether the film lives up to the promise of its trailer remains to be seen, but even if it only turns out to be half as funny and sharp as the trailer, it'll still have the edge over the vast majority of comedies that have come out so far this year.

#4: Mockingjay - Part 1

I'm not a fan of the trend of extending a franchise by cutting its final chapter into two movies, but that doesn't mean I'm going to hold that against Katniss and company. Since Catching Fire managed to be even better than the already-pretty-good Hunger Games, I've got high hopes for Mockingjay.

#3: Fury

Fury is already been discussed as a potential Oscar player and the trailer certainly backs up that assumption. Whether it turns out to be as great as Brad Pitt's last foray into a WWII period piece remains to be seen, but it looks like it's going to be pretty good and very intense.

#2: Interstellar

Christopher Nolan. What else needs to be said?

#1: Birdman

Looks weird. Can't wait.
